Responsibilities
THE ROLE:
We are looking for an adaptive, self-motivative design regression verification engineer to join our growing Security IP team. As a key contributor, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of creative engineers and managers to drive the execution of cutting-edge technologies and projects geared to various SOCs programs across all of AMD products. This role provides an excellent growth opportunity for robust individuals looking to make a difference.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/time zones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Optimization of test flows for increased quality and cost improvements
- Experience with networking protocols and distributed computing.
- Experience with regression job management applications such as Jenkins.
- Experience with basic database creation, maintenance and modification.
- Experience with batch systems such as LSF or SunGrid and experience with cloud compute.
- Experience with Make-based build automation flows required. Experience with other build systems is a strong plus.
- Strong experience in analytical thinking, problem solving and organizing data
- Theoretical and hands on experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Strong debugging skills in industrial software.
- Added value will be understanding of hardware SOC/IP design & functional verification tools.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Courses in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Digital Logic, Circuit Theory.
- Familiar with Linux or Unix Operating Systems.
- Familiar with Microsoft standard apps (i.e. Office), Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
- Familiar with high level software programming languages (C++, Java, C, C#).
- Familiar with a scripting language (Perl, Ruby, shell script, or similar).
- Familiar with revision control (Perforce, GIT, SVN, CVS, RCS or similar).
- Familiar with XP, AGILE, Scrum, or Kanban programming paradigms.
- Provide technical support to other teams members
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years experience in ASIC development, regression testing, silicon characterization, software development or similar role.
- Experience developing scripts or software for ASIC simulation, diagnostics testing or silicon characterization.
- Experience with regression job management utilities and databases.
- Excellent knowledge of Verilog, C, C++ and common scripting languages (Make, TCL, Perl, Python, C, C++, etc)
- Prior experience with simulation, emulation and FPGA prototyping
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details.
- Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
