Graphics RTL Design Engineer
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand the architecture of the graphics IP and functional block being designed
- Work with Architects and shape micro-architecture of digital design blocks, write design specification
- Digital design and RTL coding for assigned block at cutting edge speeds (>2.5G) in the most advanced technology nodes
- Synthesis and timing closure in coordination with Physical Design team
- Work closely with block architect to understand design trade-offs and performance challenges
- Work closely with DV team to analyze and debug failures; write assertions and coverage properties to aid in DV closure
- Actively participate in Power/Performance/Area improvement planning and implementation
- Guide and mentor junior engineers
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Have in depth knowledge of entire design process from design specification, defining architecture, micro-architecture, RTL design and functional verification, synthesis, Physical Design, Timing closure, Tape-out, and post-Si debug
- Excellent knowledge of Verilog, System Verilog (for design), Lint, Synthesis, and STA
- Experience using industry standard tools and adaptability to utilize home grown tools
- Experience with PPA (power, performance and area) optimizations
- Good understanding of computer organization/architecture
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details
- Self-starter / independently drive tasks to completion
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Prior experience with graphics design/pipelining is a plus
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Master's Degree with at least 5 years or Bachelor's Degree with at least 7 years working experience in ASIC development area
