Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring an MTS Silicon Design Engineers to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Serve as part of the Unified Memory Controller (UMC) team and participate in representing and enabling the high-performance integrated memory controllers used in diverse markets such as client APUs and server CPUs with support for DDR4/LPDDR4/DDR5/LPDDR5 DRAM technologies across different variants. Work on state-of-the-art DRAM controller technologies. Charged with ownership of or contribution towards areas including Maintaining and further establishing AMD's technological leadership position through UMC design enablement and development. Respond to problems using innovative approaches. Collaborate closely with other team members while working closely with verification and implementation team members to debug the design. Interact with the design verification team and propose testing methods for verifying the design. Utilize knowledge of or wide-ranging experience with computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, design techniques, tools, and principles to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electronic Engineering.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a closely related engineering occupation.

Alternate combination of education and experience:  Employer will alternatively accept a Doctorate degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electronic Engineering and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a closely related engineering occupation.
