Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring PMTS Silicon Design Engineer to AMD Inc. to be responsible for the architecture and implementation of a memory controller which is a critical IP in discrete graphics SOCs (System on a chip), APUs (Advanced Processing Units), and Data Center SoCs. Develop DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) Standards such as GDDR6/HBM3 as well as emerging standards such as GDDR7/HBM4 and beyond. Represent the memory controller team in the architecture community at the platform, SoC and PHY (physical interface analog IP) level as well as customer interactions for semi-custom engagements. Responsible for architecture, micro-architecture, RTL (Register Transfer Level) design and verification, integration as well as interaction with physical design teams. Develop firmware for interface training for initialization as well handling of variations across PVT (Process, Voltage, Temperature). Make performance, power, and area trade-offs in all phases of the development. Responsible for post-silicon debug, characterization, and qualification phases to get the SOCs into production. Responsible for a diverse portfolio of DRAM standards. Work on a generic infrastructure for concurrent development. Work with teams distributed across various geographies and time-zones and drive best practices to develop best in class products for AMD.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Six (6) years of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and eight (8) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Must have 6 years of experience in the following:

 

1.Hardware verification;

2.CAD tools or EDA tools;

3.Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;

4.Perl, TCL, or Shell,

5.Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification;

6.Coordination of technical projects associated with product development life cycles, including determining technical priorities;

7.ASIC design; and

8.Unix or Linux environments.
