Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform technical engineering tasks that contribute to the design of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits; follow established methodologies to contribute to infrastructure needed for design verification, floor planning, placement, routing, synthesis, and/or optimization steps in design construction, design verification and physical design implementation; perform various analyses to assess timing, power, and/or performance of circuit design; implement tests and checks to identify issues in signal strength, signal integrity, and/or timing flow; use required technologies and standard engineering methodologies to debug routine issues related to performance, timing, and efficiency in physical design; contribute to specific technical projects of moderate complexity for enhancing existing AMD technology and new product initiatives; and communicate progress of assigned project tasks to senior engineers and key internal stakeholders.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Six (6) months of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role, including as a software engineer.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires education or experience with the following technologies and/or skills:
- Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;
- RTL Design and coding;
- Java, JavaScript, C, C++, or Python;
- Front-End EDA tools; and
- ASIC design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, static timing analysis);
Employer will accept skills gained in furtherance of graduate-level degree via coursework, projects, internship, research, etc. Skills may be gained concurrently.
