Spring 2024 Research Co-Op/ Intern

LOCATION:
Bellevue, WA

ONSITE: This role requires the student to work from the Bellevue office throughout the duration of the Co-op/Intern term. First-time Co-ops/Interns should work full-time and onsite.

Spring: Start Date January 22, 2024 - May 3, 2024

We are a global leader in the development of the world’s most advanced high-performance computers (HPC), such as Frontier, the world-leading 1.5 exaflop supercomputer. As part of AMD Research, you will have a role on a winning team to invent the hardware and software technologies of next generation computing platforms. 

 

THE ROLE: 

AMD Research seeks a Computer Science or Electrical Engineering graduate student to work on high-performance computer software and hardware. You will be responsible for developing innovations that feed into scaled-out systems incorporating a variety of current and emerging accelerators and tightly coupled CPUs. The work has the potential to directly impact product roadmaps and to influence future hardware and software products. 

 

AMD Research nurtures and encourages all co-ops to file quality patents and to publish at top-tier research venues out of their internship projects. Previous co-ops at AMD Research have gone on to publish the results of their work in major academic and industrial conferences, file patent disclosures for innovative ideas as well contribute to production code and hardware designs.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

The candidate will explore novel command processor architectures and features for future heterogeneous systems. A strong candidate will have experience with RTL coding in SystemVerilog and processor architecture and microarchitecture design. Previous experience with any of the following is a plus: accelerator design, programming, or interfaces, FPGA prototyping, or virtualization.

PhD Students only.
