Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring Sr. Hardware Development Engineers to research, design, develop, and/or test the ASIC architecture of the graphics intellectual property (IP) and function block being designed and build C/C++ model for simulation. Build test benches and monitors for device under test (DUT). Create test plan and validation vectors to ensure functional completeness. Debug function and performance bugs of graphics IP. Work with the global Front-End design team and physical design team for large-scale application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) chip physical implementation. Work on the physical design of deep sub-micron graphics processing unit (GPU) chips including block level (full chip) floor planning, timing closure, place and route, and physical verification. Work with cross-functional teams including engineers to develop systems-level software, working on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results with little to no supervision. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD systems and products.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: One (1) year of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires one (1) year of experience in the following :
1.Computer architecture;
2.Functional verification methodology, including test planning and random/constrained-random test execution;
3.Verification components, including testbench, drivers, monitors, checkers, and scoreboard sub-components; and
4.System Verilog, AVM, or UVM.
