Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring Sr. Product Development Engineers to develop and/or test electrical/electronic components and/or systems for semiconductor products; Design, develop, and/or manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release and end of life; Perform debugging and test infrastructure issues including test HW, test SW, and device-specific IP; Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution; Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifestyle including modification, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line; Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors; Under limited supervision, exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results; Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design technique, tools, and principles; and Apply knowledge of electrical engineering best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Two (2) years of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires experience in the following:
1.Logic and circuit design;
2.CMOS transistor design;
3.Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;
4.ASIC design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, static timing analysis);
5.Product development cycles; and
6.Linux or Windows internals.
Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
