Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Develop and maintain tests for DFX (Design-For-Test and Design-For-Debug) verification at SoC level. Build testbench components to support the next generation IP. Maintain or improve current test libraries to support IP level testing. Create hardware emulation build to verify the IP functional performance. Maintain and improve current hardware emulation environment to speed up the runtime performance and improve the debug facility. Provide technical support to other teams. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: One (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
For either combination of education or experience, position requires one (1) year of experience with the following technologies and/or skills:
- Developing and maintaining tests for DFX verification at SoC level;
- Building testbench components;
- C, C++, or Python;
- Verilog, System Verilog, or UVM;
- Design-for-Test and Design-for-Debug architecture;
- Creating hardware emulation to verify IP functional performance;
- SoC Architecture, GPU Architecture, or CPU Architecture;
- Unix or Linux Environments; and
- Gate level debug.
