THE ROLE:
The focus of this role is to plan, build, and execute the verification of new and existing features for AMD’s graphics processor IP, resulting in no bugs in the final design.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand the new features to be verified
- Build test plan documentation, accounting for interactions with other features, the hardware, the firmware, and the software driver use cases
- Estimate the time required to write the new feature tests and any required changes to the test environment
- Build the directed and random verification tests
- Debug test failures to determine the root cause; work with RTL and firmware engineers to resolve design defects and correct any test issues
- Review functional and code coverage metrics – modify or add tests or constrain random tests to meet the coverage requirements
Job Description
- Work with Architecture, design, emulation and application teams and contribute to the verification of next generation of RISC processor architecture
- Play a key role in the development of different verification platforms in System Verilog/UVM including utilization of Emulation/Prototyping platforms for verifying next generation coherent MPSOC designs
- Verify the architecture and performance of the design
- Work with Architecture and Emulation teams to ensure micro-architecture and design is fully verified/validated across multiple platforms
- Be responsible for a comprehensive verification plan and drive the implementation of verification test cases from applications and other sources
Education
- B.Tech / M.Tech with Electronics/Computer Science
Experience
- 8+ years
Technical Expertise
- Strong background of verifying X86/ARM based Processor is a desired.
- Prior work experience with Processor ISA in Co-Sim mode (RTL + ISA Model) is a plus.
- Good understanding on Processor micro-arch flows (Pipe-Stages, Cache Coherency) is required.
- Good understanding of protocols like, PCIe, Ethernet and USB is desirable.
Testbench Expertise
- Developing and improving SV/UVM based testbench for functional verification of Processor ISA and its components.
- IP/Sub-System Verification background with Processor based Testbench is a must.
- Good debugging skills using Simulator Waveform/Trace logs is required.
- Prior exposure of working with any ISA simulator model based verification is a plus.
Protocols
- Familiarity with ARM Protocols (AXI/AXI-Stream/ACE) is required.
- Understanding of Cache Coherency (MESI/MOESI) is required.
