System Level Test Engineer

THE ROLE:
As a Product Development engineer, you will collaborate with various Product Development Groups to bring-up and ramp new products which include Plan, debug and handle manufacturing and characterization test programs for next-generation AMD microprocessors.
THE PERSON:
A successful candidate is one who can drive technical decisions independently, has accountability for accuracy, reliability and completeness of assignment results critical to the project’s success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define equipment hardware design requirements and collaborate on designs with various teams.
- Design, develop, and execute test plans for the equipment hardware test systems.
- Design, develop, and test specialized software for the equipment hardware test systems.
- Deploy new hardware and software designs to internal customers and test facilities and provide design debug support.
- Collect and analyze data from utilization of the equipment hardware test systems.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Basic programming in C/C++, and scripting languages (Ruby, Perl, Unix shell scripting).
- Modern computer architecture with and without onboard graphics units.
- Hardware design: understanding schematics, general PCB layout guidelines, Verilog/VHDL code.
- Digital IO: I2C, PCIe, SATA, Display Port, Memory Interfaces (DDR).
- Application of hardware components in hardware designs: data converters, operational amplifiers, mixed-signal ICs, power supplies, CPUs, FPGAs.
- Lab test equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and multi-meters.
- Statistical data analysis and modeling.
- Microsoft standard apps (i.e., Office).
- Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication and data presentation skills.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or comparable disciplines
