Amazon is a massive multinational technology company with a focus on e-commerce, cloud computing, and numerous other fields. They employ ASIC and FPGA engineers for a number of purposes, with the main focus of these teams being development of custom datacenter processors (such as the AWS Graviton family), or on Project Kuiper, their space-based wireless internet project.
Amazon is one of the largest companies in the world by both headcount and market capitalization. As of late 2022, Amazon employed about 1.45 million people the world over, with a market cap of about $850 billion. Their ASIC and FPGA design efforts are largely centered around their headquarters in Seattle, Washington, with some sites in Austin, Texas, Sunnyvale, California, and Reading, Massachusetts also participating.
