We are seeking a Lead Systems Software Engineer to spearhead the design and development of RF Test and Measurement systems. This role is with a well-established US company specializing in test and measurement equipment for government and defense applications. This is a direct hire role with benefits. The role is US based, fully remote with some travel to company HQ and customer sites. US Citizenship required due to government contracting guidelines. Job Summary: Reporting into the Engineering leader at the company, the Lead Systems Software Engineer will oversee and support the development of product structure and system architectural models from initial concept through detailed design, integration, and testing phases. They will design and implement embedded systems, develop firmware that controls hardware components, optimize hardware and software interactions for efficiency and performance, troubleshoot issues that arise in both hardware and software, and collaborate with both hardware engineers and software developers to ensure seamless integration of systems. They will work along with other engineers that specialize in FPGA, DSP, RF and Mechanical. The products span Analog, RF, Microwave, High Power, and Digital Electronic technologies, alongside embedded software and firmware, signal processing, and VHDL designs. Background/Experience: Prior design and development of RF Test Measurement Equipment desired. Design of Spectrum Analyzer and/or Vector Signal Generator and/or Network Analyzer hardware architectures desired. Design and development of test solutions for radar, sonar, communication, missile, combat control systems, subsystems and components. FPGA development experience (VHDL.) Development and engineering experience on software defined products. Background in mixed HW/SW systems. Advanced DSP knowledge. Full product development experience including requirement analysis, architecture, system design, integration and test. Familiarity with security features associated with RF communication systems (Cybersecurity.) Experience with countermeasures against RF communications systems (jamming, spoofing, replay attacks, etc.) Prior experience developing systems for military applications (e.g. avionics, GPS, EW, Communications.) Familiarity with communication protocols used in military RF communication systems. Experience working with the U.S. government, including in the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.   We are eager to talk you qualified candidates.
