Don't forget to mention FPGAjobs in your application. We are a small team, and these mentions are a huge help to us!

Join Impinj and help us realize our vision of boundless IoT—trillions of things connected to the Internet. We’re inventing ways to bring all things online—including apparel, automobile parts, medical supplies, and luggage. With over 75 billion things connected to date, our platform has been used around the world. Together with our partners and customers, we solve for a better understanding of our world and how things move through it. If it’s a thing, we’re working to connect it.

Team Overview:

As an intern in the Silicon Engineering Organization, you will have the opportunity to work with many silicon engineers on the endpoint IC product (tag). This passive electronic is responsible for responding to commands from Gen2 RFID readers using only RF modulation. You will work with digital designers, analog designers, test engineers, and systems engineers. Your project on augmenting silicon emulation prototyping for next generation silicon endpoint ICs will directly enable faster development of Gen2 extensions (Gen2+), help assist reader firmware development and improve silicon verification. This is a 3-month internship starting in June.

What you will do:

Work on designing a FPGA verification hardware for cutting-edge RFID tag development.

Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of digital designers, analog designers, test engineers, and systems engineers while developing tools for testing RFID tag functionality on an FPGA platform.

Gain experience with existing RAIN RFID readers, gateways, and ICs while automating test capabilities.

Participate in design of ICs that are produced in the billions.

What you will bring:

Current BS or MS Electrical Engineering Candidate

1-3 years of relevant coursework experience

Course work in digital design

Course work in RTL design of digital blocks (Verilog preferred)

Course work or experience with synthesizing RTL for FPGAs

Proficiency in a scripting language Perl, Ruby or Python

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Coursework or experience digital logic synthesis, place and route, timing analysis.

Experience with taping out an integrated circuit design in academia or industry.

Proficiency using standard test and measurement equipment including spectrum analyzers, power meters, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.

Impinj Summer Internship Program Description

The Impinj Summer Internship Program is designed to provide undergraduate and graduate students with a comprehensive learning experience that goes beyond traditional work assignments. Our program offers a unique blend of professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help interns thrive in their roles and prepare for successful careers.

Benefits:

Gain exposure to senior leadership and industry insights

Receive mentorship and guidance from early-career professionals

Build a strong professional network and connect with peers

Develop valuable skills through hands-on experience and interactive learning sessions

Access to company resources, events, and networking opportunities

The Impinj Summer Internship Program offers a holistic approach to intern development, combining practical work experience with mentorship, leadership engagement, and peer networking opportunities.
