If this sounds like the choice you want to make, then choose MITRE—and make a difference with us.</span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>Department Summary:</b></p><p>We are seeking highly motivated undergraduate and graduate entry-level new grads with skills that span a range of topics such as RF design, developing and securing hardware, firmware, embedded software, modeling and simulation, digital signal processing and communications.  Join our team and apply your technical expertise by modeling, prototyping, and evaluating state-of-the-art digital communications technologies, such as:</p><ul><li>Digital signal processing algorithms for communication systems</li><li>Development of Ground and Airborne Satellite communications terminals</li><li>Development of Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communications terminals in HF and VLF frequencies</li><li>Communications Systems Engineering</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Roles and Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Supporting communications systems development and analysis by designing and analyzing innovative waveform components such as synchronization, forward error correction, spread spectrum technologies, medium access control, channel equalization, interference cancellation, etc.</li><li>Documenting and providing recommendations for improvements to communication systems including areas such as system resilience, networking, electronic warfare, capacity, etc.</li><li>Designing and verifying real-time signal processing modules for a FPGA implementation of next generation military communication receivers</li><li>Using software defined radios to implement communication protocols or performing signal analysis</li><li>Investigating optimal quantization strategies for digital receivers in the presence of adverse channel conditions</li><li>Developing code to interact with custom hardware peripherals to provide status and control interfaces to higher-level software on a complex SoC prototype</li><li>Evaluating system designs and architectures to ensure requirements for communication systems are met</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Basic Qualifications: </b></p><ul><li>BS, MS, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline with less than 1 year of related experience</li><li>Experience with C++, Python, Matlab, or other modeling tools</li><li>Interested in components and techniques used in communication systems (e.g., modulation theory, error control coding, receiver design, embedded software, wireless protocols, channel equalization, algorithm development, information theory, detection and estimation, etc.)</li><li>Experience with data analysis and field or lab testing equipment</li><li>Interested in solving problems in a multidisciplinary team to provide solutions to complex problems</li><li>Exhibits the characteristics of a continuous learner</li><li>Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Experience with data analysis, and field or lab testing equipment</li><li>Experience writing VHDL or Verilog for FPGAs</li><li>Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills</li><li>Ability to communicate technical material in presentations and in writing</li><li>Experience modeling system requirements, behaviors, and interfaces through Digital Engineering processes and tools (e.g., DOORs, CAMEO/Magic System of System Architect (MSOSA), etc.)</li><li>Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance</li></ul><p></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span>This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):</span></p>Top Secret/SCI<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span>This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):</span></p>None<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Work Location Type:</p>Onsite<p></p><p><span>MITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
