Job Summary:
Raytheon is looking for individuals with a proven track record in technical leading and managing teams as an IPTL, Electrical Engineer, and Front-Line Leader (FLL) in the area of EO/IR Sensors and Subsystems in McKinney, TX. This candidate will be leading a group of 8 to 15 highly skilled FPGA & Digital engineers on FPGA, Firmware (FW), Digital design, Digital Processor, Electrical Subsystems, and Digital CCA/board design products and provide direct support to the EO/IR Electronics Development programs in a technical or IPTL capacity.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- A successful candidate will be an experienced technical team lead and possess the ability to work on Airborne EO/IR Electronics products development programs. The candidate will be leading new product design and test, ensuring products meet requirements. Designs include selecting Digital Processor, Power design, CCA, and FPGA designs including VHDL, plus Electrical Subsystems Design.
- The candidate will be responsible for managing the team of Digital and FPGA subsystem engineers including growth - hiring and mentoring the engineers and facilitating career development.
- The applicant will lead development proposals and program execution to meet program specifications within allocated cost and schedule. They will prepare and manage staffing across the period of performance, facilitate design performance and cost trade-offs, manage risks and opportunities, organize and lead team meetings, and participate in internal and customer design reviews.
- Experience should include functional & team management, including team leadership, staffing, staff management, performance & career development, and team development. They will be actively engaged in developing staffing plans and hiring. The individual should be self-motivated and be prepared to work with a focused team with an innovative yet schedule oriented mindset. They will be looked upon for pursuing IRAD projects, leading proposal activities and providing cost estimates based on prior programs, and authoring Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree and a minimum 8 years of hands-on industry experience in FPGA and Digital subsystem design and development
- Experience in FPGA design and Digital HW – Processor, Module and CCA design and analysis and a working understanding of architecture, design, and integration processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to function effectively as part of a larger team
- Experience in proposals and developing technical solutions and technical baseline
- Able to lead a Digital and FPGA subsystem engineering team
- Able to present technical results to Program Leadership
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Front Line Leadership Training
- Functional leadership or IPTL/CAM experience
- Digital Circuit design skills including schematic capture and board layout experience
- Digital Circuit and digital modeling capability
- Program Management Certification, or Equivalent
- Experience in Verilog VHDL and VLSI (FW design)
- EVMS Certified
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering or other relevant Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
