Summer 2023 ASIC Co-Op/ Intern
LOCATION:
Santa Clara, California, USA
HYBRID: This is a hybrid role (remote & in-office) requiring the student work from the LOCATION office approximately 3 days a week. First time Co-ops/Interns should work full-time and onsite/hybrid (not part time).
PROGRAM TERM:
- Summer terms.
- Summer: Start Date May 22, 2023 - August 11, 2023
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Work in a world-class ASIC team that has developed over 30 production ASICs over the last 20 years covering the areas of networking, storage, and compute applications. Pensando is hiring ASIC engineers to help contribute to rapidly expanding and innovative chip designs in both 7nm and 5nm process technologies. We are developing cutting-edge domain-specific processors for the smart-switch markets that leverage the P4 programming language to provide software-defined features and scale but with hard-wired performance attributes. Applications include advanced PCIe, networking, storage, and security virtualization services for both the public and private cloud markets. - Exposed to ASIC development, in particular, the ASIC emulation
- You will be exposed to:
- Set-up emulation environment. This includes:
Port ASIC/IP RTL to the emulation platform.
Implement emulation testbenches and checkers
Integrate DPI transactors.
Implement emulation sanity tests.
Use internally developed stream flow software that is used across different stage of block/chip verification, emulation and lab bringup
- port emulation tests to regression
- Debug test failures and tune performance/throughput
- Bring up external interfaces (e.g., PCIE, Ethernet, AXI, DDR and other standard interfaces) on the emulation platforms.
- Develop emulation test case scenarios.
- Work with cross functional internal teams to root cause and resolve failures.
- Work with emulator vendors to enable new features and debug tool issues.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic understanding of Verilog and Design Verification
- Programming Languages: C/C++, Verilog, System Verilog, Tcl/TK, Python
WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART:
- Motivated, eager to learn and have ownership of his/her work
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- In senior year of BSEE or equivalent. MSEE preferred
- Programming Languages: C/C++, Verilog, System Verilog, Tcl/TK, Python
- Preferred Industry Knowledge: Emulation platforms, ARM SOC architecture, Cache Coherency, TCAM, DRAMs/SDRAMs/DDR, Burst Bus cycles, DMA, PCI Bridge
- Preferred Protocols Knowledge: ENET MAC, PCIe, AXI, I2C, SPI, UART
- Ability to debug test case failures using waveform viewers, log files and trace dumps
