THE ROLE:
AMD’s DDR Server Program is looking for highly motivated and experienced Firmware Engineers to work in the development of DDR Firmware. The focus of this role is to own, code and drive the verification of DDR Training Algorithms and related Firmware. This opportunity provides a balance of definition, firmware design, system-level understanding, and post-Si debug with exposure to full design cycle. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand the new features/algorithm to be coded
- Drive the feature implementation end-end; proactively read the specs, attending to details, closing the opens to do a thorough job
- Code with high quality, document, drive the verification of the feature working with verification team
- Skilled in developing depth of knowledge while on the job with thoroughness
- Make and meet commitments, and execute with honesty and high quality
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Proficiency in Software programming skills - C programming, data structures, and firmware experience around embedded microcontroller in C, good coding practices
- Prior DDR/SERDES knowledge or industry experience will be helpful
- Working knowledge of Python and work experience with assembly language will be helpful
- Digital Verilog ASIC design experience will be helpful, familiarity with reading Verilog code, debug in Verdi, logic design concepts
- Solid problem solving/debugging skills, pre and post is preferred
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering preferred
