Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS Product Development Engineers to develop and/or test electrical/electronic components and/or systems for semiconductor products. Design, develop, and/or manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifestyle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under limited supervision, exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires one (1) year of experience in the following:
- CMOS or VLSI Design;
- Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;
- RTL Design or coding;
- Product development cycles;
- Front-End EDA tools;
- Unix or Linux environments; and
- Python, C, C++, PERL, TCL, or Shell.
