Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring a Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Optimize and debug AMD processors to improve performance of the product and debug complex problems that occur at the system level during high performance computing (HPC) applications. Conduct simulation experiments by implementing HPC applications for collecting debug data. Apply various numerical models for debug data analysis to determine underlying root cause for failures. Build automated data analysis tools to facilitate faster HPC core debug. Automate existing HPC core debug framework and create web dashboard for automated triage and notifications of failures. Work with cross-functional teams including engineers to develop systems-level software, working on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results with little to no supervision. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD systems and products.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: 1 year in job offered or closely related engineering role.
The following skills are required:
Must have one (1) year of work experience in the following:
- Hardware verification;
- System Verilog, Verilog, SV, and UVM;
- Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification; and
- Unix or Linux Environments.
