Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Research, design, and innovate Xilinx’s next generation of HBM (high bandwidth memory) PHY. Specifically, he will work on digital IC design development of PHY and integration of Memory subsystem blocks for next generation FPGAs. Support various aspects of the entire design process including RTL design and functional verification, FE design flows, synthesis, timing closure, supporting engineering views and working with test engineers on silicon verification and characterization. Responsible for distinctive design stages in the RTL to GDS implementation. Design and implement RTL for complex digital and analog blocks using Verilog and System Verilog technologies. Responsible for physical design flows (synthesis with DFT, place and route) and work on Static Timing Analysis and work closely with Functional Verification teams to support block level verification (constrained-random and directed verification environments using System Verilog and UVM). Utilize scripting skills in Perl, TCL, Shell, and other languages to support existing engineering environments and develop innovative design automation tools and flows for the varied aspects of the design implementation. Work with various design groups across different disciplines and have regular communication with project teams to resolve issues and ensure targeted goals.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field of study.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: One (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires one (1) year of experience in the following:
- Physical design stages (like Synthesis, STA) of deep submicron digital ASIC chips;
- Digital design, logic design;
- EDA tools or CAD tools;
- Scripting (automation) using C, C++, TCL, or PERL; and
- Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL.
