NXP is building new teams in Catania to create high impact microcontrollers (MCU) as part of NXP’s intelligent AI at the Edge. This team will include a wide range of engineering talent from analog to SOC digital design. Full product development local will product world class products at a world class pace.

This team will include all key engineering disciplines in Design, Architecture, Verification, DfT and Physical Design to produce high performance and quality products.

 

Role Summary:   

  • Define, architect and DC-DC systems for integration in Microcontroller (MCU) products and for MCU based systems 
  • System simulation of DC-DC systems based on behavioral models
  • Quantify block level specifications for implementation 
  • Quantify implementation impairments in overall system performance
  • Ensure architecture & implementation meet system requirements both pre and post silicon
  • Block level design and integration

 

 

  Your Responsibility:   

  • Work with system architects and marketing to develop power solutions for MCU based products. 
  • Define innovative DC-DC, switcher architectures including buck, buck-boost and boost converters. May also include capacitive converters. 
  • Simulation of DC-DC, switcher architectures including digital control and analog impairments using simulators like matlab, Simplis or equivalent. 
  • Block level analog design when required including layout oversight, review and signoff. 
  • Work with analog and digital designers to implement architecture and ensure that requirements are met before AND after tape out. 
  • Mentorship and development of junior engineers. 

 

Your Profile:

  • Master's degree in electronic engineering required.
  • 10+ years of product development experience including switch mode power supplies design and architecture. 
  • Strong and effective communication and teamwork skills.

As of the date of this posting, the estimated gross annual base salary range for this position in Italy is between 61,000 € and 83,900 € annually. This range is intended as a guideline. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, and specific business or organizational needs. This position falls under the applicable National Collective Labour Agreement (Metalmeccanica Industria). Where relevant, the total compensation package may also include additional elements such as annual incentive opportunities and/or equity, along with a competitive benefits package.
