Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., better known as AMD, is a multinational semiconductor comapny that develops computer processors for consumer, server, and business use. As of 2009, AMD is a fabless chip company, after spinning out their manufacturing arm to a separate company called GlobalFoundries.
AMD employs about 15,500 people as of late 2021, and has large design centers at their headquarters location in Santa Clara, California. They are a highly multinational company, with large design offices in Austin, Texas, Orlando, Florida, Markham, Ontario, Bangalore, India, and Hsinchu, Taiwan.
