Space Exploration Technologies Corp, better known as SpaceX, is an American aerospace and telecommunications company headquartered in Hawthorne, California. They are primarily responsible for the development and launch of the Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, and Dragon spacecraft, as well as the StarLink communications satellites.
FPGA and ASIC design at SpaceX is largely concentrated on developing avionics for their spacecraft, and communications IP for their StarLink satellite Internet network. SpaceX employs about 12,000 people worldwide as of 2022, with ASIC/FPGA teams centered in their headquarters in Hawthorne, CA, and additional sites in the Bay Area of San Francisco, CA, and Redmond, WA.
